Designers
Kalen Kaminski and Astrid Chastka offer their own interpretation of the
shibori process, and each item is hand-dyed in their Brooklyn studio
and one of a kind.
What is Shibori?
Shibori is a Japanese tradition of dyeing cloth using several different
methods of binding, folding, or compressing the fabric. Small changes in
the combinations of binding and dyeing create an endless array of
patterns and textures.
We love versatility, don't you? The Mabel Dress by Curator is quickly
becoming my go-to for it's wearability and the fact that it can be
styled four ways. How will you wear it?
Sometimes I'm astounded by how wonderfully clever and resourceful our
designers are. For instance, New York-based accessories designer Sheila
Odyssey transforms discarded plastic bags into wonderfully chic,
hand-woven handbags. This spring, she emphasizes the boldness of color,
taking the classic gingham check -- a staple for weavers -- and bold
stripes to add a new twist to traditional design.
The process...
Plastic
bags are sourced from all over the world. Fun fact: Global consumption
of plastic bags is estimated at 1 million per minute!
Bags are then cut into carefully measured strips in preparation for weaving.
The plastic strips are woven on a traditional loom and transformed into stunning accessories.

I'm totally I obsessed with MUN oil.
It's a night face oil that my skin now craves at the end of every day.

Energy Spray. I'm all about aromatherapy especially when it comes to
travel but this spray is more than just scent; it's completely

in travel size. I've loved Mayawater since it launched. I use it a lot
for my hair, for moistening facial masks, for keeping me hydrated at the
desk in dry air, and for setting makeup.

What
would you tell someone who was interested in making the switch to green
and organic products, but not completely convinced yet? If
you're interested, your instincts are already telling you what you know
